Convert film negatives & slides to digital photos

Kaiser Baas release the PhotoMaker, a 35mm slide & film negative digital converter

Melbourne, Vic. 11th June 2009. Kaiser Baas announces the release of the PhotoMaker, a digital converter that transfers 35mm film negatives and slides into digital photos. PhotoMaker appeals to anyone who has film negatives and slides taken from traditional film cameras and wants to archive or revive them into a digital format for sharing in online photo albums, social networking sites or storing them on disc or in the computer. The package includes image editing software from Arcsoft. PhotoMaker will be available from July 2009 at $129.95 RRP.

"The release of PhotoMaker follows the same theme as its popular Kaiser Baas product, the DVD Maker; to convert and archive old media into digital format" , says Murray Roberts, Product Manager of Kaiser Baas. "We have been careful in selecting and developing products like this to fulfil the growing need for people to preserve or convert what is fast becoming old."

Kaiser Baas PhotoMaker kitPhotoMaker offers 35mm film camera users, the most popular photographic format between 1960s to 1990s, a quick and easy option to quickly and easily convert their negatives into digital photos. With the PhotoMaker connected to a PC via a USB cable, it allows users to take 5 megapixel resolution digital photos of the slides or film negative and save them as common JPG or TIFF file format. A user simply places the film negatives or slides into the holder (supplied), slide the negative holder into the front slot of unit, and runs the software application on their PC to take a digital photo of the negative or slide. Images captured from PhotoMaker can then be managed, edited, corrected or enhanced using Arcsoft PhotoImpression, the image editing software bundled with PhotoMaker.

Features:

  • Convert 35mm colour or B&W film negatives
  • Convert mounted slides
  • Capture directly to PC with the touch of a button
  • Instant preview & high speed conversion
  • USB (2.0) powered - no external power required
  • 5 mega-pixel resolution digital images
  • 48bit, 1800 dpi optical resolution
  • Convert to JPG or TIFF format
  • Includes Arcsoft PhotoImpression 6 software

"Most people have kept their 35mm negatives and slides," says Evan Kourambas, CEO of Lako Pacific . "The KB Photo Maker is the easy to use device they have been waiting for to convert and preserve these images. Once converted these digital images can be used as any other digital Photo, they can be uploaded to on line social networking sites like PhotoBucket, Picassa and Facebook, used in slide shows, displayed on a DPF, in fact any application that uses digital photos can now include photos taken with a 35mm camera."

PhotoMaker is controlled from the computer using PhotoImpression 6 software for previewing, capturing, editing & saving the digital photos. PhotoImpressions lets you browse images using a calendar view, enhance photos, add vector graphics such as text & logos, create dynamic slideshows and save them as video files or screensavers, tag & rate photos, and batch process multiple files such as rename, rotate & resize in a single click. PhotoImpression 6 also features a backup to disc feature for burning files to CD or DVD.
